Activa 6G On Road Price: What You Really Pay in 2025

Understanding the Real Cost of Activa 6G On-Road Price

Earlier this year, I accompanied my cousin to a Honda dealership in Guwahati to help him buy his first scooter. He had his heart set on the Honda Activa 6G, a popular choice among first-time buyers in India. However, we were both taken aback by the significant difference between the showroom price and the on-road price of the Activa 6G.

The base showroom price listed online was ₹76,234 for the standard model. Yet, when we received the final bill, it totaled around ₹92,000, which included RTO charges, insurance, handling fees, and road tax.

This price discrepancy often leaves buyers puzzled. While advertisements highlight the ex-showroom price, the on-road price of the Activa 6G encompasses all the extra costs you need to consider before bringing the scooter home.

In major cities like Mumbai or Bengaluru, the on-road price can easily exceed ₹95,000 to ₹97,000 due to higher registration fees and road tax. In smaller towns or rural areas, you might find a slightly lower price, but don’t expect a huge difference—the average on-road price for the Activa 6G in India is around ₹90,000 to ₹97,000 in 2025.

What’s Included in the Activa 6G On-Road Price?

The on-road price of the Activa 6G consists of several elements:

  • Ex-showroom price: This is the manufacturer’s price plus the dealer’s margin.
  • RTO registration charges: Typically around 7%-10% of the ex-showroom price.
  • Insurance: The first-year insurance for the Activa 6G usually ranges from ₹5,000 to ₹6,000.
  • Road tax and green tax (in some states): This adds an additional ₹2,000 to ₹4,000.
  • Road tax and green tax (in some states): This adds an additional ₹2,000 to ₹4,000.
  • Handling and logistics charges: Generally around ₹500 to ₹1,000.
  • Optional accessories: Items like a guard set, footrest, and seat cover can add another ₹1,500 to ₹3,000.

When budgeting for a scooter, it’s important to focus on the on-road price rather than just the ex-showroom rate. For instance, the Activa 6G’s on-road price is what you’ll actually pay.

During my visit to a dealership, I noticed they were offering a cash discount of ₹1,000. Some dealers even include free accessories to help reduce costs, so it’s definitely worth asking about and negotiating.

Variants and Their Impact on Price

The Honda Activa 6G is available in two primary variants: Standard and Deluxe. The Deluxe model features a digital meter and some additional aesthetic enhancements.

The ex-showroom price for the Deluxe version is ₹78,734, and in major cities like Delhi or Hyderabad, the on-road price can exceed ₹98,000.

I recall chatting with a college student in Delhi who opted for the Deluxe model mainly for the digital meter. Later, he mentioned that the ₹6,000 extra didn’t significantly enhance his riding experience. This is the kind of genuine feedback that often goes unnoticed in showrooms.

If you’re working with a tight budget and aren’t concerned about aesthetics or digital speedometers, the standard model provides the same engine performance, fuel efficiency, and reliability—at a more affordable on-road price.

Is the Activa 6G Worth the On-Road Price?

Now, the big question is—does it justify the cost? After assisting my cousin and speaking with several users, I would say yes—for most people.

Even with increasing vehicle prices, the Activa 6G remains a reliable, low-maintenance scooter. It delivers around 50-55 km/l in real-world conditions, boasts a strong resale value, and has an extensive service network.

In comparison, the TVS Jupiter is slightly cheaper by about ₹2,000–₹3,000, but many still prefer the brand reputation of Honda.

What’s noteworthy is that the Activa 6G’s on-road price hasn’t seen a significant increase over the past year, especially when compared to the rising costs of fuel and insurance.

From a middle-class perspective, it seems like a reasonable purchase. However, I recommend looking out for festive deals or year-end discounts that could save you a few thousand rupees. That’s how we managed to reduce the on-road price of the Activa 6G to ₹89,999 for my cousin, including insurance and accessories.

Final Thoughts from a Genuine Buyer’s Perspective

Having closely followed two-wheeler prices for over five years, I can say this with confidence: don’t be fooled by just the showroom price.

The on-road price of the Activa 6G is what truly counts. It affects your EMI, your down payment, and the overall cost of ownership.

Make sure to visit at least two or three local dealers, request a written quote, and check for any hidden handling fees. Most importantly, take the scooter for a test ride before making a decision.

The Honda Activa 6G continues to be one of the top-selling scooters in India—not just due to marketing, but because it meets expectations. While the on-road price of the Activa 6G might seem steep to some, the long-term advantages of low maintenance and high resale value often make the initial investment worthwhile.
